Lots of customers get themselves confused as to which side their scabbard should sit for their sword. We get it! It's confusing. Hopefully, this article will clarify how we list our scabbards throughout the website and which one you need.
Sword scabbards are attached to your belt and sit on the opposite hip to the hand which will draw the weapon, typically your dominant hand. This means that the weapon is drawn across the body, freeing the blade and prepapring it for use as swiftly as possible.
This scabbard sits on your left hip, so the hand that draws the sword is your right. This is the option you want if you are right handed and want to draw the weapon with your dominant hand.
This scabbard sits on your right hip, so the hand that draws the sword is your left. This is the option you want if you are left handed and want to draw the weapon with your dominant hand.
Just to confuse things, gun holsters work the opposite way to sword scabbards. You draw the weapon from the holster that is on the same side as the hand that will hold the gun.
